Professional Experience
Steven Muller is Vice President of Share Lawyers. His practice focuses on long term disability litigation. Clients rely on Steven to guide them through the complex world of long term disability claims. Steven has extensive experience in all aspects of a disability claim. He is known among his clients and colleagues as a prompt, dependable, tenacious, skilled negotiator, and a fearless advocate. Steven is the lawyer that other lawyers seek out when they have a question on a long-term disability dispute. He has a deep knowledge of Insurance law. His education includes an LL.B from the University of Windsor in 1995 and a J.D. from the University of Detroit-Mercy in the same year. He completed a Master of Laws in Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution in 2001. Steven was called to the Ontario Bar in 1997 and in 2018 he was called to the Bar of British Columbia. Steven is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the British Columbia Trial Lawyers Association. He is published in the area of disability insurance litigation and has been a guest speaker to organizations like the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, Osgoode Hall Law School and the Canadian Academy of Psychologists in Disability Assessments. Steven was ranked as a Lexpert in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory for 2023 and 2024 in the Practice area of Long Term Disability. Steven was a witness in the Senate Social Affairs Committee (SOCI) on the study of the Canada Disability Benefit. He is a recipient of the John A. McLeish Award for 2023 for his work identifying the impact of the Canada Disability Benefit on Long-Term Disability Insurance and on his efforts to help create the OTLA Long-Term Disability section over a decade ago, providing a space for LTD litigators of all levels to learn from one another and advance access to justice.
Hobbies
In his spare time, he enjoys swimming, walking his dog, travelling, reading, and spending time with his wife and kids.
